MiCA gives crypto teams a concrete reason to connect marketing operations to the approved product record. For covered offers or admission to trading, Article 7 requires marketing communications to be clearly identifiable, fair, clear and not misleading, consistent with the required crypto-asset whitepaper, and accompanied by specified references and statements.

The legal applicability depends on the asset, activity, entity, audience, and exemptions. The operational pattern is useful more broadly: every public claim should have a source, owner, review status, and correction path.

Determine scope before producing the campaign

Ask qualified counsel whether the planned offer, admission to trading, service, asset category, entity, and target countries fall within MiCA and which article applies. Record any country-specific notification or language requirements. Do not use a generic “MiCA compliant” label as a substitute for that analysis.

Map every communication surface, including landing pages, whitepapers, X and Telegram posts, KOL content, PR releases, email, events, videos, app screens, and partner materials.

Create a claim-to-source register

List product, token, supply, performance, partnership, team, security, roadmap, and availability claims. Attach the approved source, evidence owner, review requirement, jurisdictions, and expiration or update trigger. The register prevents a social team from copying an outdated deck after the whitepaper changes.

Give translators the approved meaning and legal text, not only the final image. Localized versions must remain consistent while still reading naturally.

  • Claim and exact approved meaning
  • Whitepaper, contract, report, or partner evidence
  • Required risk statement or marketing label
  • Legal, technical, security, and partner approvals
  • Channels, markets, publication date, and review trigger

Design the disclosure for the actual format

A required statement that is technically present but unreadable, hidden after a click, or detached from a creator endorsement may fail its purpose. Review mobile layouts, truncated posts, video frames, live-stream scripts, and localized graphics. Keep the whitepaper and project contact route easy to find where required.

Archive the published version, links, screenshots, approvals, and edits. If a material fact changes, pause reusable creative and update the source before distribution continues.

Operate compliance without freezing the content team

BlockPlanet can build the source register, website and whitepaper workflow, campaign templates, localization system, KOL briefs, content operations, and publication archive in coordination with the project’s counsel. Pre-approve factual modules and escalation rules so routine posts do not restart the whole review.

Use a short correction process: identify the issue, stop distribution, preserve evidence, publish the approved correction where needed, and update the register. Speed comes from preparation, not bypassing review.

Frequently asked questions

Does MiCA apply to every crypto social post worldwide?

No. Applicability depends on the asset, offer or service, entity, audience, market, and legal scope. Obtain advice for the planned activity and jurisdictions.

Can marketing use claims that are not in the whitepaper?

For communications covered by Article 7, information must be consistent with the required whitepaper. Counsel should review how the rule applies to the exact claim and asset.

What can an agency approve?

An agency can enforce the agreed workflow and factual source. Legal, technical, security, and partner-specific conclusions should be approved by the responsible qualified parties.
